The United States still holds the largest number of wealthy people. Considered the world’s top economic superpower, America is home to 29 billionaires who rank within the 50 richest people on the globe. Research conducted on the super-wealthy people used a model to determine their net worth. It took into account their assets, estimated net worth, taxes, saving rates, and investment performances.

According to the findings of the study, these are the top 10 richest Americans right now.

10. Sergey Brin: Net Worth $43.9 billion USD

Sergey Brin is a self-made billionaire. He and co-founder, Larry Page restructured the search engine, Google which put it under a new holding company known as, Alphabet. Brin will run this company as its president, and Page will be the CEO. Google has other ventures such as Google X and Nest both operate separately under the Alphabet umbrella.
Restructuring Google has made it possible for Brin to explore other projects. Two ideas in the works are the self-driving cars and the Smart homes.

Page has moved to the top of the Alphabet which has ventures such as, Google X, Calico, and Nest. He is not a flashy person but does own an eco-friendly mansion in Palto Alto which uses geothermal energy.

David Koch, a brother of Charles, is the executive vice president, and together these two have a combined worth of more than $100 billion.
Charles Koch is outspoken in politics and had a lot of influence in the 2016 presidential race. He and his brother had initially favored the Republican candidate, Carly Fiorina but later would not support either candidate. It is rumored, Charles wants to reshape American politics and has begun to strategize and develop a libertarian movement.

David Koch survived a plane crash in 1991 as the sole-survivor in first class. He has also won a battle with prostate cancer and has become one of the world’s most generous givers. David Koch has pledged more than $1 billion to researching cancer, helping hospitals, education, and cultural institutions.

Michael Bloomberg left the company to run for Mayor in New York City in the year 2002. He filled this office for three terms and in 2013 returned to Bloomberg LP to redo the newsroom and put the company on a new path. It is said Bloomberg is considering the presidential bid, though it may be an uphill battle. He is known as a fiscal conservative with his support of gun control, abortion rights, and his desire to curb climate change.

Ellison held the position of CEO for Oracle Corp for 38 years until he stepped down and became the chief technology officer.
Larry Ellison is not only a tech tycoon; he is also a generous philanthropist and partners with wildlife conservation groups. He also supports research on aging and global infectious diseases. Ellison has signed on with Bill Gate’s, Giving Pledge to donate at least half of his fortune.

America is a world superpower in almost all things and the origin of the most successful innovations in the world. The largest and most successful innovations are run by billionaires who have either earned their fortunes or increased them.
